Do Acne Products Really Work?

If you suffer from acne on any part of your body – from your face to your back to your stomach, then you have probably tried just about every acne product on the market in hopes to find a quick and painless cure. But do those products really work for everyone? Is your skin strong enough to handle some of the intense side effects of different skin creams and solutions? Can the various acne products on the market really stack up to the power of new scientific breakthroughs like ClearLight laser acne treatment?

Some people have reported that they have amazingly good luck with the various acne products that are on the market, so you should definitely begin the quest to cure your acne with the various creams, pads, and solutions that fill store shelves. Start out on your own with the over the counter acne products like Stridex pads and various other skin cleaners and exfoliants. If you are lucky, one of these easy to use over the counter products will work perfectly with your skin and your acne will be significantly reduced in days. However, even if you do not notice a change in your skin in a few days, keep up the treatment for at least a couple of weeks.

In time, if you discover that none of the over the counter products are working on your skin, or even worse, they are causing more irritation than your acne itself, then it is time for you to visit a local dermatologist. Dermatologists can prescribe you with various other acne products that contain special chemicals and compounds that are available by prescription only, so if your acne is especially severe, it would be a good idea to have a professional doctor check you out. Use the acne products that your dermatologist recommends for a few weeks as prescribed and then see if your acne is gone. If not, then it may be time for you to move on to laser treatments or various other expensive acne products.
